I’m always entranced by how large the moon first appears on the horizon. Inspired by watching the full Snow Moon of February rise above the mountains, this small oil painting tries to capture those first moments of splendor as the bright moon lifts into view.
This painting has a reflective surface that makes it difficult to photograph. I admit that’s because I forgot to photograph it before I added the final coat of varnish. The bright spots and glares you see in photographs are from the sun’s reflection and not part of the image itself. I tried to offer ample angles to provide an accurate representation.
Lightweight, easy to hang, or sit on a shelf, it would make a perfect gift or add a pop of color to your home or office.
