Magenta Juniper Painting
I am absolutely fascinated by Utah Juniper trees.
Their gnarled bodies, silvered and ragged from harsh desert conditions, contort in gravity-defying angles while bare branches jut toward the sky in twisted spirals like supernatural beings frozen in motion. Walking among them feels like a glimpse into prehistoric times, and they have a certain element of magic that begs me to draw them.
My illustrations are meant to capture the magical whimsy of the junipers. To celebrate their crooked, tattered, weather-worn bodies covered with deep crevices like lines on an aged face. With simple ink lines and bold watercolors, I honor each tree as it stands proud of its uniqueness.
Small and simple one-of-a-kind paintings that add color to a room and provide daily inspiration to celebrate the moments in life that aren’t perfectly polished. A reminder to embrace your own weirdness and not be afraid to let yourself shine.
