A friend sent me a photograph of a man she met while working in the remote Aboriginal community of Tjuntjunjarra. This community became the home of the Spinifex People, indigenous Australian people of Western Australia, who were removed from their homelands prior to British nuclear testing in the late 1950’s. This man spoke no English, held his pants up with a rope, and would have been in his late teenage years during the testing and resettlement.
